- Assam announces a feasibility study for a metro along the 121-km Guwahati Ring Road [item corrected]
Correction (19 August 2026): this item originally reported an Assam cabinet approval of a four-phase ₹18,000 crore Guwahati Metro. That claim came from a single trade article recycling a January 2017 cabinet decision. The July 2026 record supports only a state-budget announcement of a feasibility study along the Guwahati Ring Road, with DMRC slated to prepare the DPR and the Chief Minister explicitly ruling out an intra-city metro. We corrected this as soon as our verification caught it.
